Sentosa Villa @ Taiping, Perak

This is our first post on hotels we have stayed.



We selected Sentosa Villa as our hotel for our 2D1N trip to Taiping as we were looking for a quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. We considered several locations, but Sentosa Villa turned out to be the most economical one. Haha. The rates that we had, considering it was a weekend, was only RM238.00 (inclusive of GST). It is located at a very strategic location, not far from the landmarks in Taiping, Taiping Lake Gardens, Taiping Museum etc.

We booked the Deluxe Villa room type, wanted to get the Honeymoon Suite but too bad it was occupied on that night. If you are to book through Agoda or Booking.com, Honeymoon Suite is not listed therefore you may have to call and ask. There are few room types available: Bungalow, Cottage, Family Villa, Honeymoon Villa, Wooden Villa, Deluxe Villa, Junior Suite, Family Classic, Superior Room and Standard Room.

Prior to entering our room, we already loved the environment. The hotel was hidden within a housing area, and was full of trees and greenery. The reception area was decorated like a traditional Malay kampung house, and we were required to take off our shoes while entering. Villas were seen scattered around the vicinity, with stone walkways connecting each of them.

As it was raining when we arrived, the check-in to our room was not quite smooth, as we had to walk under the rain in order to reach our room. As we reached the room, we were amazed by the space of the room; this was probably one of the most spacious rooms we had stayed in together.

As the rain stopped, we took a stroll around the hotel's surroundings. The air was so clean and fresh after the rain, with all the greenery that surrounded us, we felt so relaxed and tranquil. A stream runs through the area. We passed by the Family Suite, several Deluxe Villas and ordinary hotel rooms, but we didn't manage to find the Honeymoon Suite. Perhaps it was really hidden and private. JsKee suggested that maybe we can book earlier during our next visit to get the Honeymoon Suite. Yay.

Facilities wise, there was an event hall, a cafe, some pondoks, BBQ pits, swimming area and a spa. Simple but complete. There were no WiFi connection in the rooms, which in our opinion is good, as we can concentrate on the green environment, rather than looking at our smartphones during the stay.

Overall it was a great experience, and we look forward to our next stay at Sentosa Villa. One single thing to comment on: due to the wooden flooring, we can listen to people walking upstairs (Deluxe Villa was made up of 2 floors and we slept at the bottom floor) and it kinda disturbed our sleep. Hopefully we could get the top floor / Honeymoon Suite during our next stay.
