Almost every one who visits Cameron Highlands will definitely pay a visit to the strawberry farm, tea plantations, flower parks and so on. However, not many of us know that Cameron Highlands also produces grapes and has grape farms. In our 3D2N trip to Cameron Highlands (
view the itinerary here), we visited the KC Kwang & Sons Grape & Tomato Farm, which was located nearby the Blue Valley, and is accessible through the Simpang Pulai exit.
The location of the farm was quite tricky to find, apart from the large signboard above, there were no other directions provided towards the farm. We followed the direction on the board, and a large construction site was seen. That was really far from our expectations though. If you do see a construction site after turning left into the junction as directed by the signboard, do not panic as you are at the correct path.

After passing by the construction sites, the farm can be found at the end of the road. We were not too sure whether we reached the destination, until we saw the container lorry parked at the roadside, which showed the name of the farm. Just ask any of the farmers there and they will be able to guide you on where should you park your car.

The farm is quite a large scale to have a container lorry like this big |
The grape farm and the tomato farm is located opposite each other. We visited the grape farm first, as we both thought that grapes farm is more difficult to find in Cameron Highlands than tomato farm. Once we entered the area, the worker immediately spotted us and offered to show us the way. It was a straight alley with plantation areas on both sides. Not all areas have ripe grapes, and the worker did us a favour by picking the area with most grapes to show us.

Look at the ripe grapes... |
Both of us were very excited as this was the first time we saw a grape farm with grape vines all above us. By just looking at the grapes, we already felt so hungry and thirsty. They planted the usual purple grapes and also the green ones. According to the worker, the grape trees take about 8 years to grow into full size, and the fruits will be formed every 6 months. This was also the reason why they had different batches of tress. To ensure continuous supplies of grapes throughout the year.

Directly opposite the grape farm was the tomato farm. In fact, it was not a 100% tomato farm as they also planted some other vegetables at the same area. Similar to the grape farm, the tomato farm also had a long pathway in the middle, except that the path here is wider.

The most impressive part of this farm is that, it has its own packaging warehouse! All fruits were packaged and boxed according to their sizes and grades. Apparently KC Kwang and his sons are on a large scale production.
Since it was a unique experience for both of us, we purchased a pack of grapes for the price of RM 15.00. It was labelled as "Kyoho Grapes" though, not "Cameron Highlands Grapes", as Kyoho is basically the breed of the grapes.

On the way back, we also saw mountains of chrysanthemum plantations |
