Lavender Garden @ Cameron Highlands, Pahang

Lavender Garden, we suppose, is quite a new attraction, which was constructed in these few years. Both of us could not recall seeing this when we traveled to Cameron Highlands few years ago. It is situated quite far away from the main attractions and cities - Tanah Rata and Brinchang. When you drive towards the Simpang Pulai end of the mountain, you will see Kampung Raja. Continue driving, 2km before the attraction there will be a signboard to assure you that you are on the right track. Parking is scarce at this attraction, as you may have to park further down the road if you visit during peak seasons.

The entrance fee per person is RM5. Not too expensive, but worth it. At least this place is very special and different from the 'usual' places that we go to in Cameron Highlands. Lavender Garden is built with European theme, where you can see a lot of European style architecture around. Once we stepped into the garden, we feel that we are in Europe, not in Malaysia. This place is extremely romantic and beautiful, and is a MUST GO if you are travelling to Cameron Highlands as a couple.

Love this photo
Well, it turns out that it is not only me who thinks that this place is super romantic. There was a wall in the garden, which was almost full with Instax photos of couples who shot their wedding photographs here. Another evidence to show the romantic-ness of this place is that, there were also Love Locks (similar concept with the one in Paris) hanging at one corner in the garden. People can write messages and lock them onto the chains. Depending on what you wish for, you can lock your messages in different sections: Health, Best Friend, Romantic, Love and Happiness. Each Love Lock costs RM9.90. Why this amount? In Mandarin, the pronunciation of 9 is similar to long-lasting, thus symbolizes that every couple who buys the Love Lock will last forever.

Love Lock comes in 2 colours: Gold and Silver. We chose silver =)

And throw the key into the small houses!
After sealing our love message at the Love Lock section, we continued exploring the rest of Lavender Garden. Flowers, flowers and flowers everywhere. Every spot seemed so perfect for a couple to take photos.

Beautiful sculptures added more romance to the garden
The road sign

There was a walkway which led us to the peak, where the self-picking sections and the cafe were located. Self-pick flowers and strawberries were available for purchase. 1 flower costs RM2 and 200gm of self-pluck strawberries will cost RM10. It's not about the price, sometime it's about the fun of plucking something on your own and enjoying the process with your loved one =)

Flowers are big, bright and colourful

Big, red and juicy strawberries available for self-plucking
The cafe and management office were located at the other side of the peak. How awesome is that, the management office was built to look like a castle! The cafe sold typical Cameron Highlands products: Strawberry juice, strawberry ice cream, strawberry tea etc. We always love to try something special, thus we ordered a cup of Lavender Tea at RM5. It tasted good and aromatic! There was a sign saying "Lavender Ice Cream" but we did not manage to find any.
